Swansea equalised again after the interval when Bafetimbi Gomis converted a penalty.
Chelsea’s title defense has not begun
as manager Jose Mourinho would have wanted as they were only able to manage a draw at home to visiting Swansea.
Jose Mourinho’s side had got off to the perfect start when Oscar put them ahead with a well taken goal after only 23 minutes.
Swansea were however back on level terms after new signing, Andre Ayew scored from close range after a stunning double save from Chelsea Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Swansea fans were still celebrating when Lukasz Fabianski had to pick the ball out of his net of the second time in less than 10 minutes after the ball took a wicked deflection off Federico Fernandez from a Willain cross.
The first ended with Chelsea on the front foot and Diego Costa almost caught the Swansea goalkeeper out but Fabianski was smart enough to save.
The second half resumed and both teams were playing with more caution but Swansea were growing in confidence as Jonjo Shelvey controlled proceedings in the centre of the field.
Swansea equalised again after the interval when Bafetimbi Gomis converted a penalty, having been brought down by the onrushing Courtois, who was shown a red card by referee Michael Oliver.
Gomis had another goal ruled out for offside and Asmir Begovic saved twice from Jefferson Montero and Gomis to keep Chelsea on leve terms.
Ramadel Falcao was introduced as Chelsea searched for the winner but he could do little to influence proceedings as Chelsea settled for a draw.
