Nokia unveils new virtual reality camera

Former phone manufacturer cum telecoms equipment
maker Nokia has revealed a new virtual reality camera
capable of recording high-quality
3D video and
audio aimed at filmmakers and content creators.
The company said the OZO camera has eight
synchronised sensors and will capture spatial audio
through eight integrated microphones.
The President of Nokia Technologies, Ramzi Haidamus,
said, “We’re thrilled to introduce OZO to the content
creation world, and to define a completely new category of
virtual reality capture and playback solutions,” in a
statement.
The ball-shaped gadget captures 3D footage for
content creation for virtual reality headsets that let
users immerse themselves in the virtual landscape,
such as the Occulus Rift and HTC Vive. The device is
being developed at the company’s facilities in Finland
