Wednesday, Samsung has announced pricing and availability for the 9.7-inch and 8.0-inch Galaxy Tab S and S2 tablets.
The company started accepting preorders for the new tabs today, with arrival set for September 3.
The larger Tab S2 will start at $499.99 for the 32 GB model Wi-Fi only variant while the 8-inch tablet will go for $399.99 at the basics.
Both come in black, white and gold, all with MicroSD support.
Each comes with an octa-core CPU and will run Android 5.0 (Lollipop).
The two devices feature the exact same cameras: 8 megapixel shooter on the back and 5 megapixel camera at the front. They have Super AMOLED screens at 2048×1536 screen resolution and can both record HD video.
The tablet is thinner and lighter than its main rival, Apple iPad Air 2 at 266 grams for the 8-inch device and 391 grams for the 9.7-inch. Both tablets are 5.6 mm thick. The iPad Air 2 is, by contrast 6.1 mm.
No word on whether they will get updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
